One of the main reasons I improved in basketball is because of my coach. My coach is very committed to his work and makes sure that everyone benefits from basketball drills. If there’s a really big game coming up, he would take his time into helping us prepare for that game. I learned a lot from him that I never learned in Michigan. This is my best coach that I ever had.
One thing about my coach is that he literally hates to lose. He is not a losing person. He doesn’t accept loses and doesn’t like them as well. He has a really competitive spirit. By the ways, my coach is really good at basketball (he almost made it into college basketball it seems). Speaking of competitive spirit, if our team loses a game and we didn’t even try to win, then the next day at practice, all he would do is make us run. After that, we would get back on track.
My coach never discourages a player. He never would. He would take 5 minutes to talk to a certain player about what he needs to work on to improve his game. My coach even has individual practices for certain people to improve their skills.
Lastly, my coach is a funny guy. During practices or games, he would crack a joke to make our team feel better after a certain loss or accident. Even in games he would tell a joke to get our spirits up. My coach is not all about basketball, he would even spend some time to have fun with the team. He would host a team dinner or take us to a high school basketball game.
I have a lot of respect for my coach. There are some ups and downs with my performance in the games, my coach guides me to improve my game. Once again, this is the best coach I had ever had and I hope to learn more from him.
